Assistant Building Services Supervisor

 

Support Staff Pay Range NJC Grade 2 scp 3 – 8 £20,812 - £22,777 pro-rata

(actual salary £18,523 - £20,272 depending on BCC continuous service)

 

Permanent position to start ASAP

 

Working hours 32.50 per week all year round

 

 

 

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Assistant Building Services Supervisor to work a split shift opening and carrying out duties.

 

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Site Manager.  We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, and dedicated team player that can:

 

  • maintain safety requirements around the building and grounds
  • site safety and security, including being an appointed key holder, locking up daily and opening (when required)
  • includes working a split shift in the absence of the Site Manager, and on occasion some locking up after evening events
  • work during school holiday period may vary to term time hours
  • follow cleaning schedule and deputise in the supervising cleaners
  • follow maintenance programmes
  • complete routine repairs and maintenance work of building and grounds to a high standard
  • knowledge of managing site health and safety
  • COSHH knowledge or a willingness to attend training and deliver training as required
  • ability to work and liaise with outside contractors
  • work effectively in partnership with all stakeholders
  • work cooperatively as part of a team
  • be resourceful and committed to ensuring the highest possible standards
  • display a flexible and practical approach, and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • communicate effectively with a wide audience including teaching staff, pupils, and parents, as well as the wider community
  • contribute to the life of the school and its community
  • take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school

 

The role will also includes closing of the school site and the occasional opening. The ability to remain calm under pressure, to prioritise work and identify and act on issues of Health and Safety are essential.

 

Working Monday – Friday 11:45am – 6:45pm (includes 20 minute unpaid break)

The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work.

 

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
