15.11.24 In Forest Friday this week we have been making nature bracelets by collecting a range of different leaves that we found whilst exploring the woodland area.
13.11.24 This week the children have been discovering why people wear poppies. We have discussed remembrance and held our 2 minutes silence in class. We have enjoyed exploring a range of activities about soldiers and poppies.
8.11.24 This week in Maths we have been learning all about the number 1. In the woods this week we hunted for different items (sticks, a variety of leaves and stones) and added one of each colour leaf to our picture.
7.11.24 We have been learning about Diwali, the children really enjoyed exploring mehndi and rangoli patterns as well as creating a group firework picture.
5.11.24 The children were excited to discuss the fireworks that they have been hearing over the weekend for bonfire night, we talked about the bright colours that could be seen and created artwork to represent these.
17.10.24 Each day in Nursery we do the weather board in our classroom and discuss the changes that we see happening outside with the seasons. The children have enjoyed observing how leaves are changing now that it is autumn. We have used autumn leaves in class for sorting activities, collage and leaf rubbings.
15.10.24 This week in maths we are moving on to sorting different objects by their properties - beginning with colour. Today we worked in teams to sort lots of colourful PE equipment.
9.10.24 This week in Maths we have been continuing to work on matching, we have looked at matching shapes and their outlines, numicon shapes and making matching towers.
25.9.24 Today we had our reading workshop, it was lovely to spend time with our families, sharing stories and developing our love of reading.
18.9.24 We have been learning about different colours, beginning with red, yellow and blue. We have been exploring lots of different activities and have done a colour hunt around the classroom.
11.9.24 We have been exploring the outdoor environment; discovering new activities and developing our physical skills.
07.9.24 Our new nursery children are settling in so well, they have been busy making new friends and developing independence.
