Welcome to Story Wood School’s Local Governing Body

The Trust governance model recognises that our Local Governing Body are accountable for ..

  • Story Wood’s ethos and values: to maintain the school’s identity and Unique Selling Points

Governors are also responsible for…

  • The safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils, families and staff at Story Wood
  • The engagement of stakeholders: this includes promoting partnership work with parents and consultations with parents, carers and pupils as part of the school’s self evaluation

Our Governors will support and challenge the school to…

  • Ensure the highest quality of provision for all pupils by reviewing teaching and SEND support
  • Review pupils attainment and progress against strategic objectives and national benchmarking
  • Develop character and culture by ensuring effective implementation of the vision and values
  • Ensure pupils and parents have a voice and are involved in decisions that impact them

Governors are a valued group of volunteers that have a crucial role in our school. They offer positive and proactive support to the Senior Leaders, staff, pupils and the community that the school serves. They understand and celebrate the strengths of the community that the school serves and hold the highest aspirations and expectations for our pupils.
